HELIOS DOCS

Granola

Connect Granola to let Helios agents read meeting content and start workflows from note events.

What your agents can do

Agents can read notes, summaries and transcripts, list folders and spaces, and manage webhook endpoints through Granola's v1 API. Notes are read-only. Enterprise audit and legal-hold operations require separate admin keys and are excluded.

Connect Granola

API keys require a Business or Enterprise plan. In Granola's desktop app, open Settings > Connectors > API keys for a personal key, or Workspace API keys for an admin-created workspace key.

In Helios, choose Granola API key, enter API key, and select Key access:

ChoiceAccess
Personal (personal)Owned notes, directly shared notes and shared private folders
Public (public)Workspace-visible notes
Personal and public (personal_and_public)Both personal and public access
Workspace (workspace)Public notes and spaces with API access enabled. Needs a workspace key

Match the choice to your key's permissions. Triggers fire for the same notes. Enterprise admins can restrict personal-key scopes. Workspace keys do not expire. Granola does not document a lifetime for personal keys. Helios validates credentials by listing one folder. See Granola's key guide.

Triggers

Helios registers one endpoint for all three events:

EventMeaning
note.generatedFirst AI summary generated
note.editedSummary edited or regenerated
note.access_grantedNote shared directly or through a folder

note.edited has an optional Note ID pattern filter for watching one note. The other events have no filters, because a delivery carries only the note ID.

Deliveries contain a note ID and event metadata, without note content. The agent reads the note through call-api. Helios verifies Standard Webhooks signatures and rejects timestamps outside five minutes. See Granola's webhook guide.

Setup updates the endpoint in place. If its stored signing secret is missing, Helios creates and saves a replacement before removing the old endpoint. Failed replacements leave existing endpoints intact. Unavailable events include the API's error reason. Disconnecting deletes this connection's endpoints.

Limits and errors

A 401 means the key is invalid. Scope restrictions can produce 403. Check the selected key access and the workspace settings. Granola returns only notes with a summary and transcript. Requests are limited to 25 per five seconds, with five per second sustained. A 413 TRANSCRIPT_TOO_LARGE requires the separate transcript endpoint. See the API overview.

Granola retries failed deliveries for four days and can then disable the endpoint. Re-enable it after fixing delivery failures. Events missed while disabled are not replayed.
