Grok Bot launched in beta on August 11, 2026 at x.ai/bot. It is a desktop and iOS app where named Bots work on a persistent cloud computer. It is not the @grok reply account on X, and it is not Grok Build, the open source coding CLI. Helios is a web product where each run gets its own sandbox, tools are reached through their full APIs, and spend is capped for the organization.

Where Grok Bot is strong
What Grok Bot does well
- Routines by demonstration. You record up to ten minutes of work and the Bot repeats it on a schedule or event.
- A persistent computer with a browser, files, and a shell. A person can take over for passwords, two-factor codes, CAPTCHAs, and payments.
- Group chats of two to six Bots, a native iOS app, and a bundle inside existing SuperGrok and Cursor subscriptions.
Where Helios is different
How Helios works instead
- Every Helios run and chat starts in its own cloud sandbox. xAI's docs say "All of your Bots use the same persistent cloud computer" and "Do not use separate Bots as a security boundary."
- Helios has organization spending limits. Triggers stop when credits run out. xAI's pricing guidance says there is "no Grok Bot-specific spend cap yet" and overflow is billed from model and token cost.
- Helios is available to teams today with resource roles, groups, service accounts, and share expiry. Grok Bot enterprise access is a waitlist.

Using both
Helios and Grok Bot together
Some teams keep a Grok Bot for personal desktop work that needs a browser or a phone, and run team workflows on Helios where each run is isolated and spend has a cap. If you are moving a routine to Helios, write it as a plain language workflow, attach the integrations it needs, and set a schedule or webhook trigger.
